Models Own nail art pen

I've been able to play around with this for a while now so I can finally give a proper review! I've used it a few times, for my leopard print nails and also my aztec nails and a couple of other times too. I bought it when Models Own had their 50% off code, so I only got it for £3.

The tube has a nib on the top for more precise application and when you twist it, the lid comes off and a brush comes out. The nib is BRILLIANT, the brush? Not so.

Evidence:

What good is that going to be? Seriously? There's no way I am using that... (there will be a post soon on what brushes I am using instead)

The nib is great though and create a wide variation of designs (apologize for them being a bit shaky, I was rushing!)

What's your favourite nail art designs?

Lots of love

  1. How very cool! I think I need to get myself a nail pen, so I can *try* to be more creative with my nail designs.

  2. I wish I'd ordered one of these in the 50% off sale, was just so focused on the actual polish oops. I'm probably a bit boring with nail art but I love things like simple polka dots or the leopard print x

  3. Just incase you didnt know, you can get a handful of different coloured nail art pens exactly like this one, with the brush and nib for a fraction of the price from ebay. Majority have to come from overseas but if its only for nail art, its a lot cheaper for a lot more product! :-)

  4. I really hated this pen! I got it from ASOS when they had a sale on and my brush bit was bent all the way back in a curve so impossible to use and my nib just poured out colour constantly!! I sent it back. Looks like I had a totally faulty one now cause your nib looks sooo much better than mine was! I couldn't even get in pin in without the colour going everywhere! I really wanna get a new one now I've seen how it -can- work but I think I've been put off Models Own tbh... =/ <3

  5. I would not pay full price for this if I received the brush looking like that!

  6. Ooh I'm pleased you reviewed this Amy! I almost picked it up last week but the only one left had been opened, and I was pretty much buying it for the brush tip. Might shop around for something else by way of nail art pens/tools instead (:

  7. I keep eyeing this up in boots and thinking about all the amazing things I could do with it but the brush definitely looks rubbish. Thank god the nibs good though...that's another thing to add to my shopping list tomorrow :)

  9. My brush is like this too, it's awful, I end up using a separate long thing nail art brush because otherwise the lines end up scraggly :S
